Cindy Smith has been interested in art all of her life—she’s been winning awards for her drawings since grade school. More recently she has won first place in several art competitions and people’s choice award at local art shows. While for years she painted with oil and acrylic paints, she is now focusing on fine pencil work. It is not unusual for her to spend 40 to 100 hours on a single drawing! Cindy creates depth and movement with the use of perspective, rich tonality and a number of rendering techniques, bringing her drawings to life. When she’s not at her “real job,” she’s rendering commissions throughout the United States and Canada of everything from portraits and pets to buildings and boats.
After traveling, Cindy has returned to her native state of Idaho. Surrounded by both mountains and desert, she has made her home in Boise, because she still enjoys the diverse terrain she grew up with. She is married with two children and a daughter in law.
