Olivia is the Marketing Intern for Quarto Publishing Group USA and is excited to graduate from UC Irvine this June with a B.A. in English. She is happiest when reading a good book or writing about her adventures abroad, and continues to be inspired by all things outdoors. Olivia loves to try out new art mediums and techniques but has yet to be disappointed by a pencil and sketchpad.
Meet Kansas City-based artist and illustrator Sarah Walsh, the artist behind Walter Foster's Just Add Color: Circus, Just Add Color: Day of the Dead, and Just Add Color: Carnival. Sarah has designed typefaces, illustrated for various card lines, dabbled in animation, and designed surface pattern. Her current work as a freelance artist allows her to work on a variety of projects−from books to editorial to fine art to fabric. I had the chance to talk with Sarah about her work as an artist/ illustrator and the things that inspire her!
Next in our KIDS WEEK of giveaways is the I Can Draw series. With these approachable and engaging guides children ages four years and older will discover how easy it is to draw a range of favorite animals and subjects.
Have you heard? Walter Foster Jr. is here
"I keep drawing the trees, the rocks, the river, I'm still learning how to see them; I'm still discovering how to render their forms. I will spend a lifetime doing that. Maybe someday I'll get it right." Alan Lee
