"Everything you can imagine is real." Pablo Picasso
Sometimes beginning something new is scary. It's the fear of the unknown that can get us to stop before we even try. But not trying will only guarantee a failure.
In Get Started Painting trying out some new techniques with oil, pastels, acrylic and water color becomes a fun experiment.
As with any new undertaking, having the right tools is the key to success.
With each of these four mediums there are specific techniques that should be used to get the best results when painting. For oil, you tone your entire canvas with a neutral color before painting. With Acrylic, combine different techniques to get textures in your painting. The important thing with water color is to learn how to control the moisture. And with pastels, there is an art that goes with using those subtle hues.
Which medium would you like to try?
