Ship at Sea

by Jonathan Kwegyir Aggrey

The artist uses a stunning array of deep blues and soft greys to capture a boat at sea. At first glance, it looks as though the sun is beginning to break through a morning fog. A painting like this evokes so many questions. Is the ship moored safely in harbor, awaiting its next adventure? Or is it out at sea, ready to pick up a full fishing net?

Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.
