Coloring Paris

"Paris is always a good idea."
-Audrey Hepburn

After I graduated college I decided that I needed a little travel in my life. For some reason I had it in my mind that the first trip I took abroad needed to be Europe. And I was right. I went to London, Florence, Venice and of course Paris. I'm not sure what I was expecting of Paris but it didn't disappoint. I've always been fascinated with history, and Europe was rich with it. I think my mind's picture of what Paris would be like was a lot like how Tomislav Tomic depicted Paris in Coloring Paris, which shows Paris during the early 1900s.

I chose to color a picture towards the end of the accordion pull-out pages that shows a serene scene of a mother and child watching a small boat on the river Seine.

I used a combination of markers and colored pencils in order to show the depth of the illustrator's lines.

In Paris, I saw all of the touristy things and walked along the streets pretending I lived there. I drank french wine and ate french food (especially warm, freshly baked croissants), but out of everything there really is something special about the Eiffel Tower. It has that certain, "je ne sais quoi," as the french say.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
