"As children, we all live in a world of imagination, of fantasy, and for some of us that world of make-believe continues into adulthood." ~Jim Henson
"There are dragons in the clouds, in trees and waves, and dragons carved in stone, and guarding gold in caverns old, in stories, waiting to be told..."
Back on February 2nd, the groundhog saw his shadow and let us all know that we were in for 6 more weeks of winter (according to old lore at least!). Well, like most people across the country, we are ready for spring! These gorgeous spreads of flora and fauna found in the Pictura Nature and Fairies coloring books are our latest inspiration. We're all about the greens and blues for coloring in this beautiful artwork.
"Your style is your innate, organic ability to turn any drawing into an illustration uniquely your own. Artists often discover their styles by simply paying attention to their basic likes, including favorite aesthetics, colors, and textures... Take as much or as little artistic license as you like. Think about the details, flourishes, shapes, and signatures you'd like to be recognized by." ~Stephanie Corfee
Setting up a still life can be an enjoyable process. Allow your theme to determine the objects and how you place them in the scene. In this composition, a variety of textures spice up a simple floral setup to create an eclectic country theme. The bright, simple shapes of the sunflowers serve as the dominant focus, with the blanket adding detail and contrast. The rustic wood backdrop, chipped table, and unusual vase add interest with soft, mottled textures.

We can't get enough of our fun-loving friends from the Banana Cabana, and now we have the opportunity to create and draw our own adventures for these playful and quirky characters. Almost Naked Animals debuted on Cartoon Network in 2011 and quickly rose to earn a spot as one of the Top 20 shows on the network for boys ages 6 and older.
