Step Three Continue drawing the yorkie puppy’s head. Alternate between an H pencil and a 2B pencil for the lighter and midtone areas, respectively. Use long, tapering strokes, being careful to follow the direction of the hair. Periodically “draw” lighter hairs by lifting out tone with a kneaded eraser pinched to a sharp edge, and use a 4B pencil to draw a few darker hairs throughout for depth. Also draw darker individual hairs over the lighter hairs in various directions for a more natural appearance. Then start to draw the whiskers at the sides of the nose with an H pencil.
